One hand puts the garland, with a smile. 

One hand seeks more riches.

One hand applies sindoor, with love. 

One hand pours paraffin oil.

One hand holds another during saptapadi, with a promise.

One hand lights a matchstick.

      Yep. Apparently, in the fiction, Jekyll felt like a charlatan and Hyde felt like a 'genuine man'.
